What patients say on Google

“I was told by several different doctors at Freeman that I will most likely need spine surgery. They sent me to spine specialist Dr. Ipsom. He refused to do the surgery (severe herniated disc) and suggested that I smoke weed to help the pain and deal with it. Also, per policy, he wouldn't even be able to prescribe weed so I'm lucky it's legal in missouri. He told me to go to another ER over 2 hours away but didn't even call them to make sure they could admit me. I couldn't drive that far with the state I was in. Not long after my legs stopped working properly (again). I went to freeman ER. The ER doctor said there will most likely be surgery but when he contacted Dr. Ipsom said "no" again. Not long after that I ended up in Mercy ER with the same problem. Couldn't walk, extreme pain. Showed up at the ER on Friday and they admitted me and did the surgery that following Sunday morning. I can walk again. My pain level is much lower though I'm still healing. They helped me with pain management right away and have treated me with more respect than the Freeman Neuro doctors ( Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Ipsom in particular) have ever in the past. Freeman appears to not actually care or want to help anybody that needs it. I tried every other option and it failed for years but yet they refused to do the surgery. I'm also told this was a fairly common and straightforward surgery to do so the lane doctor at Freeman just must not be good at his job. Oh by the way, I filed a complaint. It went nowhere. Freeman needs to do better. Help people. It appears to me you guys just drag out the doctor appointments while providing minimal care so you can get as much money as you can.”

“Doctors are ok but the support staff is unreliable and irresponsible. They don't respond when you need medication and basically anything you need even after several phone calls.”

“I went into see Dr. Sweaney for surgery on my spine C5-7, he was the most personal friendliest person you can ever ask for, very down to earth and on our level. He did an amazing job all around. I would recommend him to anyone 100%. Very intelligent and knows his work ethic. The whole staff was very welcoming and wonderful to work with. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
